Driver Cited Twice for Speeding in Minutes

Staff Report / PSLlocal.org

FORT ST. LUCIE – A driver was cited for speeding twice within minutes on Tuesday morning in Port St. Lucie.

A traffic unit officer observed the driver speeding at 49 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone on SW Kestor Drive near SW Darwin Boulevard. The officer issued a citation with a reduced speed to lower the cost of the fine.

However, shortly after being pulled over, the driver accelerated to 48 mph in the same 25 mph zone. This led to a second citation within just four minutes of the first stop.

Authorities are reminding drivers to adhere to speed limits for their safety and the safety of others.
