Port St. Lucie Issues Boil Water Notice Tonight
Staff Report / PSLlocal.org
The Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department has issued a precautionary boil water notice for its water customers, effective tonight at 8 p.m. The notice comes in response to recent heavy rains, potential flooding, and the threat of strong winds, which may pose risks to the water main system.
Residents are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before consumption as a preventive measure against possible water main breaks. This action is being taken to safeguard the health of customers, even though there are currently no known compromises to the water system.
Customers are encouraged to fill containers with tap water before the 8 p.m. deadline to ensure access to safe drinking water. Once the storm has passed and system facilities have been inspected and approved, the boil water notice will be lifted.
For inquiries about water or sewer service, residents can contact 772-873-6400 or visit the city’s website at www.cityofpsl.com/utility. Additionally, a chat service for the Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department is available 24/7 throughout the storm event.
