Port St. Lucie, FL – New officers have joined the Port St. Lucie Police Department following a swearing-in ceremony held yesterday. Assistant Chief Leo Niemczyk officiated the event for the department's newest members, Officer Morgan Cundle and Officer Cody Nutt.

Officer Cundle joined the Port St. Lucie Police Department in 2023 as a civilian background investigator. After gaining experience within the department, she decided to pursue a career as a sworn officer.

Officer Nutt has been a resident of Port St. Lucie since he was four years old. His aspiration to become a police officer was influenced by positive interactions with law enforcement following the untimely death of his father.

Both officers are set to begin the Field Training Program before taking on solo assignments within the department.
